Richard M. Pino, MD, PhD, FCCM Richard M. Pino, M.D., Ph.D., F.C.C.M. is an Professor and Head of the Department of Anesthesiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He received a B.S. in Biology from Villanova University, M.S. in Zoology from Rutgers University, Ph.D. in Anatomy from Hahnemann Medical College, and his M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. After a transitional internship at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, he completed a residency in anesthesia and fellowship in critical care medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and practiced there for thirty years. He served as a reservist for 23 years, was mobilized to active duty in 2003, and achieved the rank of captain in the US Navy before retirement in 2011.
